To insert notes, click in the text box labeled ﾒNoteﾓ. A note consistsnote letter (ie: ﾔAﾕ-ﾔGﾕ); the modifier which can be a sharp (ﾔ#ﾕ), a flat (ﾔ-ﾕ), or a natural (ﾔ ﾕ [space]); and the octave (0-6). Every other block of fouris colored yellow to mark off the individual beats.
See the Keys sectionhelp system to see which keyboard keys are supported. If you enter a ﾔB#ﾕ or a ﾔC-ﾕ, MacMod Pro will automatically convert it to a ﾔC ﾕ or ﾔB ﾕ to simplify the.
The spacing for each type of note under normal speed settings are:
1 space = sixteenth note
2 spaces = eighth note
4 spaces = quarter note
8 spaces = half note
16 spaces = whole note
Voices or lines can be hilited byir labels. For example, to hilite all of voice 1 you would click where ﾔVoice 1ﾕ is writtenwindow. Other portionsmusic can be hilited by holding the mouse button down and dragging across the window.
To use the ﾔFindﾕ itemOptions menu, you must choose what to search for (note, instrument, or effect). Then you must choose which note, instrument, or effect to search foformat for entering a note isA-G) followed by a #, -, or space followed by an octave number (0-6).
Staff Editor
The staff editor is much like the standard editordifference lies in howinsert notes. To insert a note, select one of the different notes from the palette on the left of the Editor window. You may select, flat, ordo notssume a natural. You can extend the note by half of it's original length by clicking the ﾔdotﾕ button. You cannot use this button with a or rest because the staff is limited to sixteen accuracy. To select an instrument for a note, click the pencil button in the palette and hold down the option key while note's head. You must hold down the mouse button for the instrument popup menu to appear. To set an effect for a note, clickpencil button and then click on the note's head. Selecting parts of the musicdoneipencil and then clickingstaff and dragging the mouse. To select anvoice, double click voice's label to the leftstaff. To tie two or more notes together, select the notes, and then either click in the bottompalette orﾔTie Notesﾕ from the Staff menu.
You can change the current song's key signature by choosing ﾔKey Signatureﾕ from the Staff menu. This only affects the way the music is displayed in the staff editor.
You can also change the basein tby choosing ﾔSet Octave Rangeﾕ from the Staff menu. This changes which octaves are displayed inff
You can change the mode foring and erasingby using the submenu ﾔStaff Modeﾕ ﾔStaffﾕ menu or by clickingtop button above the vertical scroll bar. A menu will popup giving you the choice of two different modes:
Pigeon Hole Mode
This is themode for inserting and erasing notes add anywhere there is space for it. It does not affect the positions of any other notes. When you eraseit leaves a spacemusic.
Stacked Book Mode
This is an alternative mode for inserting and erasing notescan add a note anywhere. The note will be ﾔsqueezedﾕ in, pushing the notes after it furtherstaff. When you erasethe resulting space is closed up. The analogy is a stack of books, where when you remove a book, the books on top fall down to fill the space.
